โ Frequently asked questions
Can I activate my plan later?
Yes โ installing isnโt the same as activating. The validity clock starts the first time the eSIM connects to a network. Because this plan also covers Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China, connecting in any of those starts it too โ so if youโre flying from Hong Kong, keep the Volo line switched off until you land in Taiwan, and your days wonโt start early.
Which network will I connect to?
Youโll connect to Chunghwa on 5G, with your phone automatically picking the strongest available signal.
Will my phone work with this eSIM?
Most phones released from 2018 onward support eSIM and are carrier-unlocked. On iPhone, open Settings โบ General โบ About and look for an EID number; if itโs there, youโre ready.
Can I keep my home number?
Yes. This is a data-only eSIM that runs as a second line beside your home SIM, so calls and texts on your usual number still come through.
Can I share data over hotspot?
